Last night, the replacement refs made a controversial call. Depending on who you talk to, it was either the right call based on the simultaneous possession rule, or a legally blind ref murdered Aaron Rodgers’ mother. It’s all a matter of perspective.
As a person who, like the replacement refs, is just learning about football, I didn’t have a lot of emotional investment in last night’s game. So my favorite part, as always, is the part where Twitter melts. Here are my picks for the ten most dramatic Tweets about last night’s call.
10. The Mournful Camaraderie
9. The Big Picture

This is not about fixing one game, it’s about fixing several possible games that would be slightly more important than this game down the road.
8. The Vindictive

Good God, imagine thousands of angry people with Wisconsin accents calling you. Suddenly my day doesn’t seem so bad.
7. The Going Wide

All right, calm down, he “stole” a football in a game where he was supposed to steal it. And technically I really think that’s what an interception is anyway, so Green Bay was just trying to steal it from him.
6. The “I Wouldn’t Take This If I Were Them”

There’s no caption that I can add that will make this better, so I will simply repeat, “AN ABOMINATION.”
5. The Moral Mockery

It’s true. When I think of the NFL, I have always thought of integrity. Oh, and dog fighting, assault and rape allegations.
4. The Violent by Proxy
3. The Asshole
2. The Directly Involved

No man with integrity would believe that. Women, on the other hand, are always thinking they really won based on bad calls by non-union refs.
1. The Selective Apology

Notice LeBron’s inability to use proper English. Must be all the education he received.
